The Eleventh Commandment

„Thou shalt not lie about thy wife.“

Four college buddies — a businessman, a soldier, a public prosecutor, and a historian — stay in touch for years. When they hit middle age, they decide to swear an oath of eternal bachelorhood. They reunite for one friend’s birthday, which should be a wonderful celebration… as long as his wife doesn’t spill his secret.

František Ferdinand Šamberk’s classic farce has been adapted for stage and screen many times over nearly 150 years. Czech Theater’s adaptation (translated by Petr Gepetto) is true to the original script with a 1980s setting. Expect shoulder pads, mistaken identities, and enough laughter to keep you warm on a cold winter night.
